Mit der Ausstellung Notion NoNotion zeigt die Produzentengaleriemitte ein konzentriertes Ensemble zeitgenössischer Positionen aus Skulptur, Malerei und Fotografie, die sich mit der Fragilität von Wahrnehmung und Bedeutung auseinandersetzen. Der Titel spielt mit dem Begriff der „Notion“ – der Idee oder Vorstellung – und ihrem eigenen Auflösen: NoNotion, keine Vorstellung, kein fester Begriff von Kunst und Betrachten von Kunst. Gleichzeitig ist NoNotion die Negation der Vorstellung, die sich in der Umsetzung der Idee in Form von Skulptur, Malerei und Fotografie materiell wie räumlich wahrnehmbar manifestiert.

Die Künstler Mirko Mielke, Siyavash Ghassemzadehgan, Manuel Schubbe, Rainer Neumeier, Benjamin Zibner und Martin Sieron zeigen in den Arbeiten die Schnittstellen von Materialität, Bild und Gedanke. Ihre Werke oszillieren zwischen klarer Form und konzeptueller Offenheit: Skulpturen, die zwischen Körper und Abstraktion changieren, Malereien, die die Fläche als Denkraum nutzen; Fotografien, die Realität nicht abbilden, sondern befragen.

Notion NoNotion versteht sich als ein Dialog über das Sehen und Wahrnehmen selbst. Die Ausstellung führt vor, wie Bedeutung entsteht – und wie sie sich im nächsten Moment wieder entzieht. Zwischen Gegenständlichkeit und Auflösung, Struktur und Zufall, Oberfläche und Tiefe eröffnet sich ein Spannungsfeld, in dem Kunst zum Denkprozess wird.

With the exhibition Notion NoNotion, Produzentengaleriemitte presents a concentrated ensemble of contemporary works in sculpture, painting, and photography that explore the fragility of perception and meaning.
The title plays with the idea of “notion” — of an idea, a mental image — and its own dissolution: NoNotion — no notion, no fixed concept of art or of seeing art. At the same time, NoNotion is the negation of the very idea that, in its realization through sculpture, painting, and photography, becomes materially and spatially perceptible.

The artists Mirko Mielke, Siyavash Ghassemzadehgan, Manuel Schubbe, Rainer Neumeier, Benjamin Zibner, and Martin Sieron investigate the intersections between material, image, and thought. Their works oscillate between precise form and conceptual openness: sculptures shifting between body and abstraction; paintings that turn the surface into a space for thought; photographs that do not depict reality but interrogate it.

Notion NoNotion unfolds as a dialogue on seeing and perception itself. The exhibition reveals how meaning emerges — and how, in the very next moment, it withdraws again. Between figuration and dissolution, structure and chance, surface and depth, a field of tension arises in which art becomes a process of thinking.
